Overall the trails remain in good, rideable condition with regular grooming going on. The only minor issue to be careful on is their may be some icy areas, otherwise the trails area great! We went from extreme cold to a few warm days and now we are back to extreme cold again. The trails were excellent and then we got some warm weather that probably wore them down some. Then last night it got cold again and we also received a few inches of new snow. The weather is expected to remain cold and more snow is on the way. Grooming should be resuming soon after a couple day hiatus and I would thing the trails would be good again after a grooming. There are still a few slick corners out there but overall they are in pretty good shape. Grooming should be going all week and more snow is also expected so the trails are only going to improve. But as of right now they are in good riding shape and there still is a lot of the snowmobiling season left to enjoy. We are now over 16" total snowfall and it is still coming as I type this. Over the weekend we got around 12 inches of snow and it is still coming down hard! By the time its all done we could have a foot and a half of new snow on the trails. It also is the heavy/thick snow so its not going anywhere for a while. <br><br><br>Weekly Summary: Trail grooming will now start up again regularly and will be in great shape in most areas.<br><br><br>Snow Cover on Ground in Ishpeming: 16++<br>Snow Cover in Big Bay, Just to our NORTH: 16++<br><br><br>Area Grooming: The Moose Country snowmobile club does a majority of the Ishpeming area grooming. There are also several other clubs that maintain the other areas of the county such as Big Bay, Republic, Negaunee, etc... Trails are groomed on an as needed basis, so during busy times they are normally groomed at least once a day. Snow is thin getting into towns or gas, but good snow towards Big Bay on trail 14. Some areas on trail 8 is muddy where the sun hits. Rained on Wednesday night, but turned to snow by morning.
